Employee Involvement Some managers
believe that employees should be motivated simply by doing work and
collecting a paycheck every two weeks. Employees will put in their
time because they need the money to survive, but paychecks alone rarely
produce motivated, productive employees. Employees like to be involved.
They like to be on winning teams. CESD partners with organizations to help develop processes for engaging employees in business operations, many times with little budget outlay. These processes include developing strategies for increasing the opportunities for employees to contribute their ideas to the business, designing work systems where employees exercise high levels of involvement and responsibility, and conducting evaluations of the success of existing efforts to involve employees. We also advise organizations on actions they may want to take to strengthen employee involvement programs. CESD's goal is to facilitate both leadership and staff through the building process of a system that will impact the well being of the organization, far more than any paycheck or holiday ham would. |
